This is the second bike Ive painted for Matt, it would seem he now has a penchant for retro paint schemes!
The first frame I painted for him was a Cannondale Supersix Evo. It was was painted in the iconic red and yellow 90’s Seaco-Cannondale livery, made even more famous by the controversial Mario Cippolini.
Matthew approached me with another iconic 90’s design, the Team Telekom Pinarello.
This time he wanted to use his modern Pinarello Gan as the canvas upon which this retro theme would be painted.
I have a soft spot for classic bikes and retro cycling, so was more than happy to paint this.
We kept the main elements of the design including the sweeping pink (named Tele-Magenta/RAL 4010) sections, black base colour and white logos.
However putting a twist on the theme we switched around logo positions and updated the Pinarello logo to the latest version. We also added a pearl over the whole frame which in the sun shows the black as a super dark metallic purple, and gives the pink a bit more oomph.
This is a modern take on an absolute classic.
